Opening
day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway was filled with numerous
activities at the track including rookie orientation, practice
sections and a very special parade of Corvettes!
To start
the parade off right the track rolled out their collection
of past Pace Cars to line pit row. Speeches were giving
by track executives and GM personnel until a special parade
of 92 Corvettes lead by the 2007 Corvette Pace Car went
around the track. On the second pass the 2007 Vette pulled
off and handed the pacing duties over to the
trio of 2008 Pace Cars, a coupe, convertible and the E85
car.
The
lap is over, time to put the Speedway Pace Cars back in
"the basement" !
A
wonderful display of shiney cars on the track and wonderful
weather made for an enjoyable day. I would like to thank
the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum for allowing me to
bring my 95 to help with the display and allowing us to
experience the event (including driving the 2007 Pace Car).
I hope you enjoyed my photos!
Bruce.
